Q1: Which countries have baned the internet?

Countries that have banned  the Internet aren’t all because of what’s bad about it, countries have banned the Internet, are financially worse off than countries like Australia, USA, England. Therefore with the minority of the poulation being able to afford computers in these countries, that particular country has decided to not ban the Internet, but ’post-pone’ the Internet from their country until they are able to access it financially. These countries that have banned the Internet or can’t afford it are: Maldives, Tunisia, Belarius, Libia, Syria, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Iran, China, Myanmar/Burma, Cuba, Turkmenistan and North Korea.

Q2: Describe what the folowing image is about

The image to me looks like the Internet has been banned because of the controversial website ‘youtube’. What this particular image also tells me that a majority of the countries that have banned the Internet are countries that are from Asia, which ar eplaces with very strict disciplinary beliefs and that websites such as youtube, etc have pushed the boundaries of what those people call appropriate websites.

Q3: Provide evidence of at least 5 sources that discuss the reasons why these countries have taken such a drastic aproach.

Q4: Discuss how you would feel if the Australian government banned the internet. What privileges would you use?

I would feel very disappointed if the Australian gorvernment banned the Internet because if they did that they would be going back to the ‘good old days’ when the teacher copied out the textboook and the students were expected to remember it all. This isn’t as effective as the Internet because you can look at 3 different websites on the same topic, therefore allowing you to ellaborate on your current knowledge.

The privileges that i feel that i would lose is the communication with people all over the globe, and this could effect your cultural knowledge because you would be learning about the traditions that someone would do in their country and you yourself would also be spreading your culture all over the globe. The Internet, when you think about it, makes the world a smaller place, because you can contact someone thousands of kilometres away within seconds. This shows how connected our world has become. Imagine if Jesus could broadcasting his teachings across the globe, how much of a better place would we be living in? A much better one I believe.

Q1: Define the term ‘moral maturity’To be morally mature means that you don’t let emotion effect your thinking, so if you get hit for six bowling in a game of cricket, to be morally mature you will forget about that delivery and focus on the next one. To be morally mature you can also participate in the social world, which means that you can understand others, and vice versa.Q2: Discuss the reasons why the 25 year old man would lack ‘moral maturity’

The reason why i think that the 25 year old man was morally immature because he let his emotions get the better of him, and this is proved by him spitting on police and resisting arrest.

Q3: Identify the differences between morality and immorality

Morality is the concern with the distinction with right and wrong, or good and evil. This also means that the person who has qualities of morality is generally a cautious person and will think things through beforehand. Immorality is the quality of not being in accord with standards of right or good conduct, or in other words, the opposite of morality.

Q4: Watch the following clip and describe the reasons why Govenor Spitzer’s actions would be regarded as immoral

The reason why Govenor Spitzer’s actions would be considered immoral because he knew what he was doing was wrong and failed to accept the fact that if anyone found out who he was, his job would be in serious jeopardy. This, to me is failing to consider the consequences. Another reason why it is immoral is because he pretended to be someone else, to cover up his true identity.

Q1.) The concience is being helpeful because its telling him the right thing to do.

Q2.) The difference from religion and concience there isnt much but a concience would be helping you make dissions while religion just tells you how to live it.

Journal Entry 8:

Q1: Discuss what you would do in these situations:

a) I would take a description of the people and take a mental note of what nationality they are. I would also help the ethnic man after the people are finished, because the people showed no moral maturiy by letting their emotions get the better of them.

b) I would tell her that she is crazy that she would suggest to start a riot just because she is BORED. I would also say that she’s completely insane and leave.

Q1)Digital media means a virtual way of presenting anything such as the news and advertising something. Digital can mean virtually made or can be reffered as a picture or video. Media means the news or some type of music, video, picture, presentation and so on. But when putting digital media together you will get the following meaning – Consequently, the term digital media signifies too broad a range of technologies for Manovich to consider it to be of any value within academic discourse.

Q2)The media has changed heaps because now they brang a new factor that plays a big part in “media” this factor is called the ‘Internet’, this is one of the most popular inventions because it sets out a whole new world for people around a country and around the world. People now use the internet to make money or to upload videos to become somewhat popular.

Q3)Digital newspapers are very popular because people dont have to waste their time going down to the agency and actually paying extra money for the paper, but if you were to get the paper digitally this means no extra cost and no waste of time.

Journal Entry 10

Q1.) Using youtube as a source of media is a good idea because Yuotube would have to be the most popular video site, this emans that if you ask someone – Whats the best website to watch videos? People would most likely say Youtube. Youtube is great because it has a big variety of videos so from comedy to news, and it is constantly updates.

Q2.) People now go on Youtube because it is entertaining, but some people have been posting videos as a ’sale video’ this means that they are trying to sell something using youtube as a broadcasting station which means they put popular tags and then bang, he views climb like crazy.

Q3.) http://youtube.com/watch?v=v9nCPbbngmI is a commercial that has been posted by a youtube fan, this ad has reached 11 thousand views in 3 days. So that is just one of many commercials posted on youtube.
